What’s involved with this role:
To solve land and property related problems associated with major projects undertaken by the Council. Give property advice to clients and partners. To manage and sign-off the annual asset valuation exercise for the Council’s Statement of Accounts.
Providing specialist valuation and estates surveying services for internal clients and partner organisations.
Negotiating major acquisitions and disposals and other property related projects.
Undertaking valuations for the Asset Register and, if required, certifying such valuations carried out by other Council valuers.
Assist in the instructing of external property consultants, monitoring their performance and cost effectiveness.
Attending meetings of committees, sub-committees, working parties and working groups as necessary, drafting and presenting reports to these and other groups.
Contributing as appropriate to the development and implementation of corporate and/or directorate initiatives or policies.
Undertaking negotiations with partners and external organisations.
Contributing as appropriate to service transformation and improvement activities.

UK working experience
Availability to work – CV should state either immediate or at short notice
MRICS with membership of appropriate faculties
Valuers Registration Scheme member
Corporate or local government post qualification experience
Practical experience of working in professional property environment
CIPFA and IFRS accounting regulations
Advising clients with complex long term property objectives
Exploring, establishing and building up partnership arrangements
Access to a vehicle
Microsoft Office skills

Anticipated Length of Assignment: All of our roles are designated temporary, though in practice we find that the vast majority of them get extended on a multiple/long term basis. This one is expected to be for 1 month, initially.
Hours per week: 35-37 (tbc) Monday – Friday, normal working hours
