A vacancy has arisen at within the PMES division for a Principal Commercial Officer. Reporting to the Finance Director the successful candidate will be responsible for providing commercial input for major tenders, preparing quotations, preparation and negotiation of contracts and contractual agreements across all the Business Units, Commercial management of contracts from receipt of enquiry until receipt of payment from the customer.
A vacancy has arisen for a Commercial Manager, reporting to the Financial Director within the PMES division of our Rugely based client. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the smooth running of the commercial department, providing commercial input for major tenders, preparing quotations, preparation and negotiation of contracts and contractual agreements across all the departments. The role will involve providing contractual support to all areas of the Company thus ensuring that all contractual issues are effectively completed, as well as supporting and assisting the commercial team on daily work activities.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities
Evaluating and preparing responses to customer`s enquiries and Invitations to Tender
Negotiating prime contracts with UK and overseas commercial customers and with UK Ministry of Defence (MoD)
Advising Purchasing Department on the flow-down of contract conditions to sub-contractors
Advising Programme Managers on all contractual aspects and assisting to deliver programmes in a cost effective manner
Drafting contract documentation and agreements of a contractual nature joint venture, partnership, confidentiality, consultancy, software licences, etc
Liaison with customers at all level
Skills and experience required
Personal attributes
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Proven track record of managing a team proficiently
Proven track record of relevant experience at the same or a similar level within a Commercial Contracts Department
Significant experience in contract negotiation and the commercial management of supply contracts, post design services, integrated logistics support and installation for both UK and overseas customers
Must be familiar with industrial/commercial conditions of contract and procedures particularly in the transit power rail business
Must be familiar with MoD contract conditions and MoD procedures
Familiar with documentary credits and bank guarantees
Working knowledge of PFI contracts would be beneficial
Comprehensive knowledge of import and export controls and procedures
Familiar with documentary credits and bank guarantees
Working knowledge of Microsoft applications
Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team
Must be a team player flexible pro-active highly motivated and capable of working on own initiative.
