• What’s involved with this role:

Under the general supervision of the Principal Building Surveyor to facilitate, via in-house teams, traditional and partnering procurement routes, maintenance repair and planned minor/major works to the Council’s housing stock.

To assist the Principal Building Surveyor in the financial progression and reconciliation of various partnering programmes of works.

To assist in the management of Housing’s asbestos duties of compliance. This will include helping to develop effective plans, strategies and procedures for all planned works carried out by external contractors and in-house teams.

1. UK working experience
2. Availability to work – CV should state either immediate or at short notice
3. HND Building Surveying qualification (or equivalent)
4. Relevant and proven building surveying experience for delivering planned/reactive maintenance for domestic and/or non-domestic buildings
5. Previous recent experience of dealing with contractors, members of the public, building users and housing tenants, ideally within a public sector organisation
6. Microsoft Office skills

• Other preferable/desirable details to include on your CV, if applicable:

1. Degree in Building Surveying or similar related discipline
2. Asbestos Management or Surveying qualification such as BOHS P402 or P405
3. Membership (full or associate) of appropriate professional body
4. H & S CIEH, IOSH or NEBOSH

• Anticipated Length of Assignment:  All of our roles are designated temporary, though in practice we find that the vast majority of them get extended on a multiple/long term basis. This one is expected to be for 3 months, initially.

• Hours per week: 35-37 (tbc) Monday – Friday, normal working hours
