An English specialist is required to join this large department in a supportive school. It is a full time position starting in September 08.
This city comprehensive with a school role of almost 900 pupils serves a low socio-economic area and has a rich mix of ethnic backgrounds, with more than half the pupils speaking English as an additional language. The school is part of the 'Excellence in Cities' initiative, which aims to raise achievement in urban areas and in 2001, the school featured as one of the top 100 most improved schools in the country. Achievement is good and there is a large waiting list of pupils wanting to join the school.

The ideal Teachers will also:
Have a PGCE, B.Ed or BA.
Have QTS or an overseas equivalent qualification
Have excellent behaviour management skills
Knowledge of the National Curriculum
Reliable, well organised with great time management skills.
Enjoy working as a team.
