Account Manager – IT and Comms for Oil and Gas Shrewsbury, Shropshire (with about 25% international travel) Salary: £35000 - £45000 plus commission

Our client provides telecommunications and networking services for international oil companies worldwide. The company has grown rapidly in recent years based on technical excellence and high standards of service and commitment to clients.

Our client is looking for a UK-based Account Manager to help them build their business in Turkmenistan and elsewhere. Our clients have been working in Turkmenistan for over 10 years. They have a strong local team and a good market presence and they are looking to grow their business further.

Account Manager – IT and Comms - The Role

The role combines supporting existing customers, and growing the business with them, with development of new opportunities. You will:

• Build and maintain relationships with new and potential customers

• Understand their requirements

• Develop and present solutions to them

• Negotiate contracts

• Ensure that projects and services are smoothly implemented by liaising with colleagues in engineering and logistics

As the services our client provides are essential to the success of major exploration and development projects, you will interact with senior client personnel, both operations and IT.

You will initially work closely with the company’s Commercial Director to build your knowledge of the company and its services. You will form a team with local staff to sell and deliver services.

The job will be based in UK, but with a lot of foreign travel, initially in Turkmenistan.

Account Manager – IT and Comms - The Candidate

You will have lived and worked overseas, have a successful track record in international project or service sales to corporate customers, be a good communicator, enjoy travel and be willing to develop your understanding of IT and communications.
