Buyer (Engineering/Electronics/Manufacturing)

Our client is one of the world\'s leading materials characterisation companies, highly respected for its innovation and leadership in particle characterization.

They are now looking to recruit a Buyer to be responsible for the order placement and the expediting of a range of electronic commodities. This will include the actioning of purchase requisitions and the generation of purchase orders within SAP and the communication and management of these purchase orders to the suppliers through to final delivery.

Responsibilities will include the placing of purchase orders for the delivery of production items and negotiating price and delivery. Working with the Senior Electrical Buyer during handover of projects you will ensure continuity with the appropriate production suppliers. You must ensure supplier delivery and the booking in of items, as well as dealing with general enquiries in a timely manner.

The successful candidate for this role will ideally have formal engineering or electronics training coupled with a CIPS qualification. Purchasing experience within a low to mid volume OEM is required coupled with strong computer literacy, and experience of SAP ERP would be an advantage.

In order to make this role a success basic knowledge of supplier management and supplier development techniques are needed.
